Science Question Writer (Remote)

The American Board is recruiting our teacher alumni and science experts to write and edit multiple choice science questions (biology, chemistry, physics). This is a great after-school work opportunity to earn extra money and help design quality study materials to bring new teachers into our classrooms.

Essential Job Functions:

• Write multiple choice for either physics, chemistry or biology that align to program standards
• Edit and review question sets
• Generate questions for specific content domains and standards as needed
• Consistently format Microsoft Word documents
• Use file transfer system to upload documents

Education, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Expert knowledge of physics, chemistry or biology
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Extremely detail-oriented

Compensation:

Question Writers will be paid $10 per question. Writers will also review peers’ questions to assess difficultly level and edit for content.  Writers will be paid in $150 increments as follows: $120 to write 12 questions and $30 to review another writer’s set of questions. Writers will initially be screened through a question-writing exercise.  If accepted, the questions written for the screening process will count toward compensation.
