The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence Offers Teaching Information Session Online December 1, 2005
WASHINGTON, DC (November 29, 2005) — Individuals interested in changing careers to become teachers of mathematics are invited to participate in a free online Teaching Information Session, offered by the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (abcte.org) on December 1, 2005.
The online Teaching Information Sessions provide individuals with more information about how to become a teacher. The interactive sessions allow individuals to learn more about the American Board and the design of its Passport to TeachingSM certification program.
Mike Kelley, a former math teacher and award winning author of several mathematics and teaching books such as Peterson’s AP Calculus AB & BC and Rookie Teaching for Dummies, will discuss earning teacher certification in mathematics. American Board staff will also give a brief presentation on Passport to Teaching and respond to live questions.

Teachers who utilize Passport to Teaching to earn their state certification are recognized as highly qualified according to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
