Private and Charter Schools

Through American Board certification, you can teach in private schools and some charter schools in states, and countries, which do not currently recognize the American Board as a teacher certification pathway. Consider our preferred employers as you look for a teaching position.

We recommend you contact any schools where you are considering applying for a teaching position. Some may have additional certification requirements.

Choose the Subject You’d Like to Teach

Only the states of Florida, New Hampshire, Idaho, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Tennessee currently accept our program for state certification.
